Sion Stables Volunteers undertook Disability Awareness Training on Monday 30th March which was funded by Strabane District Council and delivered under the Arts and Disability Equality Charter. The training provided a forum for discussion about the barriers faced by people with different disabilities, the language and image of disability in todays society, how to offer assistance, discrimination, removing barriers, visual access to written communication and of particular relevance to our volunteer tour guides thinking through barriers to our services. The training has been hugely informative to the group and raised new questions and answers to our guides.
